Foundation
Established in 1963 by Ragionier Enzo Fenotti, Cartiera del Chiese sparked a revolutionary transformation in the paper industry. The visionary decision to utilize scrap paper as a source material echoes the forward-looking and pioneering vision of Ragionier Fenotti, who continues to lead our company today with unwavering dedication.

1973
First extrusion line
In 1973, Cartiera del Chiese made a significant leap forward with the introduction of its first extrusion line. This pivotal move involved the incorporation of two in-line extrusion machines. The innovative production line established new industry standards and facilitated the lamination of white and brown paper with adhesive materials like PE, PP, and PET, enabling the company to venture into new and strategic sectors. This initiative marked a revolutionary step for the company’s growth and technological advancement.

1990
Second extrusion line
In the 1990s, Cartiera del Chiese set another key milestone with the installation of its second extrusion line. This upgrade provided enhanced flexibility for handling larger paper formats while also enabling the application of adhesive. Our unwavering commitment to improvement has shaped a more versatile process capable of adapting swiftly to the evolving and increasingly challenging needs of the market.

2000
Third extrusion line
In the 2000s, Cartiera del Chiese unveiled its third extrusion line, featuring cutting-edge technology and boasting a finished product format of 270 cm. This strategic investment is meticulously crafted for reel wrapping applications, opening doors to lucrative opportunities in the corrugated board, solid board, and insulation sectors. This technological leap marked a substantial enhancement in our production capabilities, expanding our footprint across diverse sectors and reinforcing our steadfast commitment to innovation and adaptability.

2015
ISO Certification
In 2015, Cartiera del Chiese achieved the prestigious ISO 14067 certification, outlining principles for quantifying the carbon footprint of products. This recognition serves as a testament to our tangible commitment to reducing atmospheric emissions, highlighting our company’s unwavering dedication to sustainable processes and policies.

2016
Carrying Bags, Handles, and E-commerce Market:
In 2016, Cartiera del Chiese invested strategically to enter the market for carrier bags and e-commerce, a proactive response to evolving market demands. This initiative has positioned us as a European leader in the production of brown kraft with significant stretch resistance. The investment included the purchase of new rewinding machines capable of meeting customers’ diverse format requirements while ensuring the supply of high-strength handles.

2018
New Plant and Glue-Primer Line
In 2018, Cartiera del Chiese marked a significant milestone by inaugurating a new 8,000 m2 warehouse and unveiling new sales offices. Simultaneously, the company made strategic investments, introducing a new extrusion line for glue and primer laminates.

2022
New renewable energy installations
In 2022, Cartiera del Chiese intensified its commitment to sustainability with significant investments in new photovoltaic generation plants across all company sites. This strategic initiative has substantially increased our energy production capacity, reinforcing our dedication to environmentally responsible practices and a greener future.

TODAY
A consolidated enterprise
Cartiera del Chiese stands as a robust enterprise with four production sites located in the province of Brescia. With a dedicated team of 250 employees, we take pride in our significant annual production capacity, boasting 80,000 tonnes of Brown Kraft and 65,000 tonnes of laminated complexes. This achievement underscores our commitment to excellence and solidifies our position as a dependable leader in the paper industry.

2nd AREA OF ACTION:
WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS
In our commitment to environmental responsibility, scrap paper pulp constitutes 100% of the fiber fed into our production cycle, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the sustainability of our raw materials. We ensure that all production waste is meticulously recovered and directed to specialized sites, where it serves as a valuable fuel source for energy production.
Moreover, the sludge generated through our wastewater treatment process undergoes a sustainable lifecycle. It is carefully recovered and repurposed for beneficial applications, including agriculture and ecological restoration.
3rd AREA OF ACTION:
PAPER PULP AS A SUSTAINABLE
RAW MATERIAL
Harnessing the potential of waste for energy production is a cornerstone of our strategy to minimize consumption and decrease the volume of waste requiring treatment and disposal. Conducting thorough energy audits, we meticulously assess the consumption of our production cycle, identifying energy-saving solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into our processes.
